A Breadth of  Experience Teaching Young Filmmakers

Collis began his teaching career at the New York Film Academy and Brooks Institute of Photography.  He then advanced to adjunct professor positions at Loyola Marymount University and the University of Southern California, where he is currently employed. 

Collis also currently teaches at Arizona State University as the Visiting Professor of Film Directing. 

Previously, Collis co-taught Visual Design for Motion Pictures at UCLA Extension with the subject’s leading authority, Bruce Block, author of The Visual Story. 

Collis also teaches acting and the art of directing actors on a weekly basis at The Director’s Perspective Acting Studio, which he founded in 2009.
